Desktop picture is an image used as a background on a computer screen. You can either download an image from the Internet or use a photo stored in your computer as a desktop picture.
The size of the picture can be adjusted to fit in the desktop background . However, if you modify an image size to match desktop resolution, then it loses its quality and appears distorted.
Some applications are available which automatically determines whether an image is better for displaying in its original resolution. The most common formats which are present for desktop pictures are PNG and JPEG. Some of the display systems allow color gradients to be specified in the desktop picture, but most have the capability to specify it in a single color.
STEP 1: You have to click on ‘Start’ button, click on ‘Control Panel’ and then click on ‘Appearance and Personalization’.
STEP 2: Click on ‘Personalization’ and then click on ‘Desktop Background’.
STEP 3: Then you can select any picture or color for your desktop background.
STEP 4: If your favorite picture is not available, click on browse to search for pictures on other locations on your computer.
STEP 5: In the option “How should the picture be positioned”, choose to get the picture fit the screen, tiled, or centered on the screen, and then click ‘OK’.
You can also make changes to your desktop picture slide show. You can remove pictures from the slide, add images, change its settings and also turn it off. If you want to add pictures to your desktop slide show in Windows ® 7 -based PC, follow these easy steps:
Note: The picture you want to add should be located in the same folder in which the current slide show pictures are available.
STEP 1: Click on ‘Start’ button, then click on ‘Control Panel’.
STEP 2: After that, in the search box, you have to type desktop background, and then click ‘Change Desktop Background’.
STEP 3: If you do not find your slide show pictures, then click on picture location list to see other categories. As an alternative, you can click on Browse to search for the folder where the slide show pictures are located.
STEP 4: After locating the folder, click on each picture that you want to add to the slide show, select its check box, and then click on ‘Save Changes’.
